The tour begins with a scenic drive through Dunedin City where we will visit some key City sights including, Baldwin Street, University of Otago, Historic Dunedin Railway Station and the Octagon.

Our journey continues out onto the Otago Peninsula, where the Southern Ocean constantly pounds our coastline, and some rare species of wildlife come ashore year round making this area undoubtedly, the Wildlife Capital of New Zealand.

We next visit the truly magnificent Larnach Castle and Gardens. Most superlatives seem somehow inadequate to describe the majesty of this place where you will be enthralled by the beauty and serenity of the location which hosts amazing buildings, wonderful gardens and stunning view of the peninsula and Otago Harbour. There is a Café in the castle grounds which is an optional lunch stop where you can purchase light lunch options at your own cost.

On our journey to view the Yellow-Eyed Penguins, you will see native birds feeding on the rich mudflats and view some of the finest coastal scenery New Zealand has to offer.

We use a series of tunnels and hides which provide unrivalled access to view the Yellow-Eyed Penguin, arguably the rarest the world.

Our final stop is at Tairoa Heads where the truly majestic Northern Royal Albatross, can be seen gliding around the headlands. Our guide will tell of this truly amazing bird which spends most of its life at sea, and has chosen the tip of the Otago Peninsula to come ashore to breed.

We take the low road back to Port Chalmers and your cruise ship to complete a day which our visitors find fascinating and full of very special and happy memories.
