About Tour South

I am the Director and one of the guides for Tour South,a Company specialising in personaly escorted tours of Akaroa, Christchurch and the South Island.

I am descendant from a Scottish farming family who emigrated to New Zealand in the early 1900’s. I was born and raised in the South Island and have spent the majority of my life here.

The South Island is a unique and very special place

With a beautiful and often rugged coastline washed by the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea. The landscape is dramatically diverse and, in what is a relatively small and under populated land mass, yields breath-taking views of Lakes, Rivers, Mountains, Glaciers, Fiords, Rain Forests and Plains.

Experienced Local Tour Guides

I have an excellent group of vastly experienced Tour Guides who, like myself are very passionate about our special part of what many have come to call “Gods Own”. We delight in sharing our extensive knowledge and experiences of the Scenery, the People, our Maori and European History, and of course our Flora and Fauna.

We have escorted in excess of 1000 tours around the South Island, and consider it a special privilege to welcome visitors from all over the World. We promise to go the “extra mile” to make your holiday in our Country both special and memorable.

Experience has taught us that our style of extending a very personalised and intimate tour invariably results in an excellent outcome for our customers, and for us it transforms a job into an occasion which has the feel of simply "showing friends around our home".

Check us out on Trip Advisor, and our Testimonial page and see what our many satisfied customers, from all parts of the world are saying about their Tour South experience.

We look forward to meeting you.
